Lois Humphrey, 88, Newburgh, Indiana and formerly of Jasper County, Illinois passed away at 4:10 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center, Evansville, Indiana. Born in Hunt City, Illinois she was the daughter of Vonnie A. Ragon and Inez M. (Alexander) Ragon. She was employed with F. W. Means, Commerical Laundry, Peoria, Illinois and E. R. Moore Garment Factory, Newton, Illinois. She was of the Baptist faith. Lois was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Delavan, Illinois and Royal Neighbors of America.
On October 6, 1973, Lois married Robert M. Humphrey, who preceded her in death in 1999. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Roger Yockey, January 13, 1996; two sisters, Ilene Currie and Henrietta Burgund, three brothers, Harold, Willie F. and Leon Ragon.
Survivors include a son, Clovis Yockey; a step-son, Loren Humphrey; three step-daughters, Kathy Newlin, Karen & Les Wernz, and Susan & Keith Schmidgall; a daughter-in-law, Mona & Grant Neidigh; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby K. & Joann Ragon; a sister and brother-in-law, Iola & Hubert Nanneman; two brothers-in-law, Loren & Janice Humphrey and Rev. Richard & Nona Humphrey
Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
